Hue city bestows honorary citizenship upon RoK national

Thua Thien – Hue (VNA) – Kwang Han, mayor ofNamyangju city, the Republic of Korea, was conferred an honorary citizenship ofHue by the city’s authorities at a ceremony held in the central province ofThua Thien – Hue on April 27.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee Nguyen Van Thanh praised Kwang Han’s effective and meaningfulcontribution to Hue.

He hoped with the new position, the RoK official willcontinue his support toward socio-economic, cultural, health and educationaldevelopment of Thua Thien-Hue province in general and Hue city in particular.

Expressing his pride to receive the honour, Kwang Hanpledged to try harder in helping more Koreans know about Vietnam.

He said he is working to push for the establishment of adirect flight between Hue and Namyangju.

The RoK mayor has made a series of efforts to boost tiesbetween the two cities, resulting in the sides’ signing in October 2018 of amemorandum of understanding on fostering bilateral exchanges and cooperation ineconomy, tourism, culture, history, and other sectors of common interest.-VNA
