HSBC helps Vietnam disadvantaged youth

Nearly 19,000 children across Vietnam will benefit from two projects funded by the Hong Kong-Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) through its Future First Funding Cycle over the next three years.
Nearly 19,000 children across Vietnam will benefit from two projectsfunded by the Hong Kong-Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) through itsFuture First Funding Cycle over the next three years.

The projects to receive the bank’s support, worth ten billion VND(almost 500,000 USD), are run by the two charity organisations DariuFoundation and Maison Chance.

The Future Firstprogramme gives educational opportunities and lessons in life skills, aswell as vocational training for orphans, street children andunderprivileged young people in Vietnam .

According to Chairman of HSBC Vietnam’s Sustainable DevelopmentCommittee Scott Solberg, with the coordination of non-governmentalorganisations in Vietnam , the money will be used more effectively tomeet the community’s demands and create long-term benefits for youngpeople.

Future First, started in 2006, has helpedmore than 500,000 young and disadvantaged people in the world with atotal sum of 40 million USD. The programme was launched in Vietnamin 2007, and has provided over one million USD through 28 projects,benefiting 72,000 young people.-VNA
