HCM City (VNS/VNA) - A survey of various generations and demographicgroups in Vietnam revealed a tapestry and variety of priorities anddesires for their holiday homes, reported the Holiday Homes OutlookReport for Asia Pacific by Booking.com.
The report which surveyed 11,000 homeowners and holidayseekers across APAC, uncovered evolving trends in the short-term rentalsector from seven countries across the Asia-Pacific including Vietnam,India, Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and China.
In particular, the report offers valuable insights into thepreferences and unique home features that attract different generations ofholiday home seekers from over 1,000 respondents aged 18 and above in Vietnam.
In Vietnam, for Gen X, who were born from 1965 to 1980, theallure of fair pricing and immaculate spaces is prioritised, with abouthalf of those surveyed favouring cost-effectiveness andcleanliness in their accommodation.
Millennials, on the other hand, crave a holistic vacationexperience, with about half saying they balance affordability,safety and the convenience of local attractions. With an eye foraesthetics and personal touches, they are drawn to homes that promise a uniquestay - be it by the beach or nestled in the hills.
Meanwhile, Gen Z has a penchant for safety and uniquehomes which dictate their choices, with a notable inclination towardspet-friendly options, the novelty of tiny homes, and glampingadventures.
Across the board, all generations agree on the need fortransparency and reliability in their holiday havens, with each seeking asanctuary that resonates with their individual expectations and wanderlust.
