HCM City (VNA) – Most hospitals in Vietnam haꦛve fa💟iled to access information technology effectively as they don’t have appropriate software to satisfy their demands.
The information was revealed at an event held by the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA) on June 21 to introduce the 2016 conference on Vietnam’s panorama of information technology-communication.
According to HCA General Secretary Vu Anh Tuan, information technology is mainly applied at provincial and central level hospitals, resulting in independent database, inopportune software upgrade and mistakes in handling health insurance payment.
Therefore, the management and use of medical database is an urgent need for the health sector, he stressed.
According to a survey conducted by the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Ho Chi Minh City’s health sector annually provides check-ups and treatment for 40 million patients, causing overloads at hospitals.
Thus, the application of IT will help hospitals have more measures to gradually fix their existing problems.
Scheduled for June 23-24, the 2016 conference on Vietnam’s panorama of information technology-communication will provide an overview of the smart health care system as well as new trends of IT application in the sector.-VNA
