Sydney (VNA) - The Consulate General of Vietnam in Perth, Australia, recently collab♏orated with University of Western Australia (UWA) to organise a “Homeland Spring” programme for the Vietnamese community there, which spotlighted a message of solidarity and looking towards the homeland.

It featured a variety of art performances and a fashion show by many singers and representatives from the Vietnamese community in Western Australia. Addressing at the event, Nguyen Thanh Ha , Vietnamese Consul General in Western Australia and Northern Territory, showed her hope that the event will contribute to promoting the Vietnamese culture in there, strengthening mutual understanding between the two peoples, and preserving Vietnam's traditional values.
The programme serves as a bridge to boost connections and open new opportunities for cooperation in education, tourism, trade, and investment between the two countries, she stressed.
Representing UWA, Hannah Vu said the event is not merely a festival but also a cultural event that honours diversity, fosters mutual understanding, and promotes respect between Vietnamese and Australian people. The programme provides an opportunity for young Vietnamese generations and international friends in Western Australia to gain a deeper understanding of the Vietnamese culture, particularly the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, she said, adding that it also helps promote knowledge connection, and business and tourism cooperation between the two nations' enterprises, and introduce Vietnam's destinations to international friends./.
