The event drew over 50 representatives from the sect’s ExecutiveCommittees at different levels in the Mekong Delta province.
Seventy-two years ago, prophet Huynh Phu So, a native of Hoa Haovillage, Tan Chau district, Chau Doc province (now Phu My town, Phu Tandistrict, An Giang province), founded the Hoa Hao Buddhism, whichadvocates the practice of Buddhism at home.
At the ceremony, provincial leaders praised charitable activities performed by dignitaries and followers to help the poor.
They called on them to continue to hold on such activities and unite with people nationwide in a journey with the nation./.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
