HCM City (VNA) - Leaders and seniorofficials from 13 universities and four colleges are participating in atraining course on “Internal Quality Assurance for Higher Education Institutionin Vietnam” which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 29.

The five-day course organised by the SoutheastAsian Ministers of Education Organisation’s Regional Training Centre in Vietnam(SEAMEO RETRAC) is aimed at improving and enhancing the competence ofdepartmental leaders, coordinators and senior officials responsible for qualityassurance at higher education institutions across the country.

It will provide the participants with knowledgeand upgrade their skills in developing and implementing international qualityassurance activities to access the regional and international qualitystandards.

Topics under discussion at the training courseinclude introduction to international quality assurance, designing effectivequality assurance system and tools at higher education institutions, andapplying international and regional standards for improving internal qualityassurance.

Participants of the training course are alsoprovided an opportunity for visiting and studying the internal quality assurancesystem at the International University in HCM City.

The training course is one component of theproject titled “Capacity building on internal quality assurance for highereducation institutions in Vietnam” which is co-funded by the InternationalNetwork for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) and SEAMEORETRAC.

The project includes three phases offace-to-face training, online coaching and a survey on the impact of trainingon the beneficiaries’ performance at their institutions.-VNA
