A senior delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence (MoND) left Hanoi on October 14 for an informal China – ASEAN Defence Ministers’ meeting and the Xiangshan Forum in Beijing from October 14 to 18.
The delegation is led by Politburo member and Minister Phung Quang Thanh, who is also Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission.
General Thanh is accompanied by Lt Gen. Nguyen Duc Hai, Director of the Institute for Military Strategy; Lt Gen. Vu Van Hien, Director of the MoND’s Office; Maj. Gen. Vu Chien Thang, Director of the MoND’s Foreign Relations Department; Maj. Gen. Ngo Quang Lien, assistant to the defence minister; and Maj. Gen. Vu Tien Trong, Director of the Institute for Defence International Relations.-VNA

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
The ministry has instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Iran, as well as those in neighbouring countries, to closely monitor the situation and request local authorities to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in high-risk areas.
