The 10th ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE) conference & exhibitionentitled “Innovation and Cooperation – The way forward” will beheld for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City from November 28-30 nextyear.
Being hosted by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), theevent is expected to showcase 300 booths and welcome 500 delegates, saidPVN General Director Do Van Hau at a press conference in Hanoi onJuly 18.
Hau noted that the event offers ASEAN oil and gascompanies a chance to tighten cooperation with their partners in theregion and the world. In addition to 10 ASCOPE members, the event willalso see the participation of big groups from the Middle East .
It is also a venue to share the latest information about ASEAN oil andgas industry, including state-of-the-art technologies and equipment inthe field, Hau added.
Vietnam became a member of ASCOPEin 1996. The council was established in October, 1975. The conference-exhibition is organisedevery four years. The previous ASCOPE event took place in Thailand .
The council groups ten petroleum companies from the ASEANcountries, namely Brunei National Petroleum Company, Cambodian NationalPetroleum Authority, Pertamina from Indonesia, Department ofElectricity, Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines, Petronas Oil and GasCompany from Malaysia, Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise, PhilippinesNational Oil Company (PNOC), Keppel Corporation from Singapore, PTT Oiland Gas Company from Thailand and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.-VNA
