HCM City to build cultural and tourism village

To make Ho Chi Minh City more attractive to local and foreign travellers, the city’s authorities have decided to build Sai Gon Cultural and Tourism Village.

HCM City (VNA) - Tomake Ho Chi Minh City more attractive to local and foreign travellers, the city’sauthorities have decided to build Sai Gon Cultural and Tourism Village.

The city’s authorities have approveda plan to adjust a 1/500 plan for development of the combined Tan Thang SportsComplex and Residential Area in Son Ky ward of Tan Phu district.

The plan calls for combining theB2 and B3 blocks into a larger area to develop the Sai Gon Cultural and TourismVillage, designed to feature the cultural characteristics of the three regions(the north, the central and the south) of Vietnam.

The project includes areas showingthe 300 years of history of Sai Gon – HCM City, with waterway landscapesfeaturing river ports docking large numbers of vessels and boats in the MekongDelta.

The city People’s Committeeapproved the adjustment and enlargement of the B1 commercial and service areainto A4 and A3 areas, into bigger B1-B4 commercial and service areas, toprovide better services to residents in the project and surrounding areas.

The city authority also adjustedthe height of buildings in the A1 area from 11 to 16 storeys, to reduceconstruction density, and to save more land for greenery and transportationinfrastructure.

The municipal authority has alsoasked the People’s Committee of Tan Phu district to coordinate with relevantagencies on construction of Bo Bao Tan Thang and Le Trong Tan streets.

The Tan Phu district People’sCommittee was told to map out plans for compensation for site clearance andsupport for families affected by construction of a new intersection on Le TrongTan and Tan Quy streets.-VNA
