HCM City seeks Denmark’s partnership in smart urban development

HCMCity (VNA) – Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’sCommittee Tran Vinh Tuyen wished that his city and Denmark would join inspecific projects in the fields of smart urban development, clean energy,environment pollution and urban infrastructure construction.
Duringa reception in Ho Chi Minh City on September 21 for Permanent Secretary ofState of the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate Thomas Egebo,Tuyen expressed his delight at the development of ties between Vietnam, Ho ChiMinh City and Denmark in trade, science-technology, clean energy and climatechange response.
Hehas affirmed that the city wants and stands ready to join global programmes onsmart urban development and green energy.
Egebo, for his part, said Danish companies want to partner with the city inbuilding smart urban areas, sustainable development, improving local lives,waste and wastewater treatment, and clean energy.
The guest suggested the city attends an internationalworkshop on building smart urban areas to be held by Denmark in December 2017 inVietnam and a ministerial meeting on green energy to be held by Denmark andseveral North European countries in May 2018.-VNA
Ho Chi Minh City is striving to attract infrastructure investments, particularly in urban transport and the environmental sector, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan told the visiting Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Jan Vapaavuori on October 21.
The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOVA) has served as a bridge connecting and uniting the community with the homeland, becoming a trusted source of support for Vietnamese expats in times of hardship.
The programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has achieved notable results, with nearly 263,000 housing units addressed to date, including 225,000 houses inaugurated and 38,000 under construction.
