HCM City leaders extends New Year greetings to Lao officials

HCM City (VNA) – A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City led by Deputy Secretary of themunicipal Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang on April 6 visited and extendedgreetings to the Lao Consulate General’s staff in the city on the occasion ofthe traditional New Year of Laos – Boun Pi Mai.
Cang took the occasionto congratulate the Lao people on achievements they have recorded in nationalconstruction and development under the leadership of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party.
Ho Chi Minh Cityalways pays special attention to developing the time-honoured friendship,comprehensive cooperation and special solidarity with Laos, the official said,stressing that the city has actively work to implement agreements with Laolocalities, contributing to cultivating the relationship between the twocountries.
Lao Consul GeneralSomxay Sanam-Oune thanked HCM City for its support to the Consulate Generalover the past time, especially in organising the first-ever programme tointroduce products of Lao businesses in the city last January.
The diplomat noted hishope that Laos and Vietnam, including HCM City, will organise more cooperativeactivities to consolidate and enhance the bilateral relationship.-VNA
Vietnam continually gives priority to enhancing its traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Laos, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung told his Lao counterpart Pany Yathotou during their talks in Hanoi on March 30.

Ho Chi Minh City on April 13 hosted a festival featuring customs and rituals of Cambodian, Lao, Myanmar and Thai people during their traditional New Year celebrations.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
