Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan held a reception on October 17 for Chinese Minister of State Security Geng Huichang and his entourage.
Quan said the Chinese delegation’s current visit to Vietnam would contribute to promoting the friendship between two countries’ Parties, States and peoples, which have been nurtured for over 65 years by leaders of both nations.
He spoke of coordination between the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security and the Chinese Ministry of State Security, hoping for the further development of the relationship.
He also highlighted that Ho Chi Minh City has been twinned with seven Chinese localities while promoting multi-faceted collaboration with other regions in China.
For his part, Geng Huichang expressed his delight at the city’s development, saying that HCM City has played a crucial role in elevating friendship between two countries.
He added that two security ministries are enjoying sound cooperation, which has been boosted by both nations in general and both ministries in particular.-VNA
