Vientiane (VNA) - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh La Thang met former General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President Khamtay Siphandone and former Lao Prime Minister💯 Thongsing Thammavong during his working visit to Laos from May 31-Jun🌜e 1.

The Vietnamese official expressed his joy at the great achievements made by the Lao Party, State and people in recent times, stressing that his visit aims to further enhance and tighten the friendship and cooperation between HCM City and Vientiane capital and Champasak province, and with Laos in general.
The guest affirmed that HCM City will expand links with other localities of Laos in the time ahead. Thang said he respects the contributions of former Lao leaders in nurturing the special relations between the two nations, hoping that they will continue making efforts to promote effective and practical cooperation between Lao localities and HCM City in the future.
The former Lao leaders said they believe that under the leadership of Dinh La Thang, HCM City will strongly develop and become an example of development in Vietnam and in the region. They also thanked HCM City’s authorities for their great support for Lao localities, which has helped improve Lao people’s living conditions and enhance the special solidarity between the two countries. They hoped HCM City will boost cooperation and increase investment in Laos in the time ahead. At midday of June 1, the Ho Chi Minh City leader and his entourage left Vientiane, concluding his working visit to Laos.-VNA
