HCM City (VNA) – Increasingcivil servants’ salaries was among the notable improvement🉐s made by HCM Citysince agovernment resolution that gives th൲e city more control over itsgovernance was approved by the National Assembly four months ago.
Beginning in early April,the city’s administrative agencies assessed the work of all civil servants inthe city and decided to pay them higher wages, depending on each individual’sassessment.
The city said it would increase their annual income by around 0.6 times thisyear, and pledged to increase civil servants’ salaries by 1.8 times by 2020
The municipal People Council has also approved the total number of 12,345 civilservants working at administrative agencies in HCM City this year.
Experts and scientists with experience and promising research projects havebeen hired to work at state and administrative agencies.
Together with salary reform, the city authorities approved new parking fees forcars on streets. Beginning June 1, drivers must pay 40,000 VND (1.8 USD) perhour to park their cars on streets, far more than the current 5,000 VND perhour.
🌟The chairwoman of the council, Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, said that💎 human resourcesmobilisation, salary reform, and parking fee increases would all contribute tothe city’s strategic development vision and pave the way for the city to solvebigger issues.

Government workers and civil servants in Ho Chi Minh City have asked for higher salaries in a meeting held by the city People’s Council to listen to their voters’ opinions.
