Ho Chi Minh City promises to create more favourable conditions for businesses and citizens from the Republic of Korea (RoK) to operate and live in the city, including practicing their religions.
Secretary of the municipal People’s Committee Le Thanh Hai made the statement while receiving President of the RoK-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Association Kim Hack Yong in the city on September 30.
As the southern economic hub of Vietnam and one of the leading localities in foreign investment attraction, HCM City has provided the optimal conditions for overseas enterprises, including those from the RoK, to do business in the city, he said.
The city leader applauded the association’s significant contributions to tightening the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly supporting Vietnamese nationals in the RoK.
He asked the association to arrange more activities in the coming time to promote the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Kim Hack Yong thanked the municipal leaders for supporting the Korean community and said his association has worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK to give prompt assistance for Vietnamese brides.
He vowed to do his utmost in his capacity as President of the RoK-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Association to bolster the cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK.-VNA
