HCM City, Ehime prefecture seek cooperation opportunities

HCM City (VNA) – Chairman of the Ho ChiMinh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong on January 18 hosted areception for Governor of Japan’s Ehime prefecture Tokihiro Nakamura who is ona working visit to the city.
During the meeting, Phong suggested the two localities promote economiccooperation, especially in the fields where Ehime has potential and HCM City isinterested in.
He also called for closer collaboration betweenEhime and HCM City in education and sharing management experience.
Phong expressed his belief that the Japanese delegation’s trip to HCM City toexplore cooperation and investment opportunities will further develop relationsbetween the city and Ehime.
Nakamura highly valued HCM City’s strong development as well as promising economiccooperation prospects between the city and Ehime.
While briefing the host on the Japanese prefecture’s economic developmentpotential, Nakamura said HCM City in particular and Vietnam in general will be aninvestment destination for businesses from Ehime in the coming time.
Ehime has strengths in manufacturing industry, shipbuilding, mechanicalengineering, paper processing, chemicals, and agriculture, he noted.-VNA
Vietnam offers good opportunities for businesses from Ehime prefecture of Japan in the manufacturing of hi-tech and agricultural machinery, textiles and garment and personnel training, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan has stated that the locality has prepared for setting up several industrial zones to attract Japanese investors, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises and those operating in the support industry.
