HCM City, Argentina’s Buenos Aires forge friendship

BuenosAires (VNA) - A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City led by Chairwoman ofthe municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam visited Argentina fromAugust 1-4 to enhance the friendship between the two sides.
Ata working session with first Vice President of the Legislature of Buenos Airescity Javier Francisco Quintana, Tam told her host that as the country’seconomic locomotive, HCM City contributes 23 percent of the national grossdomestic product (GDP) and 30 percent of the State budget.
HCMCity always creates the best possible conditions with flexible, open policiesfor foreign investors, helping them run long-term and stable business in thelocality, she stressed.
Quintanaexpressed his admiration for Vietnam’s Doi Moi (reform) and economicdevelopment over the past decades.
Speakinghighly of the friendship and cooperation between Argentina and Vietnam, theofficial noted his hope that Tam’s visit would contribute to reinforcing cooperationbetween the two countries as well as between HCM City and Buenos Aires acrossfields.
Vietnamis one of Argentina’s important partners in Southeast Asia and a bridge helpingthe country expand its economic and trade ties in the region, Quintana said.
Hostand guest talked about organisational models, exchanged operational experienceof people-elected agencies, and discussed measures to spur development of HCMCity and Buenos Aires.
