HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City has been listed by CNN as one of the world’s 23 best street food desti🀅nations.

The US outlet said that perching on a plastic stool on the sidewalk, with a steaming bowl of pho (noodle soup with beef or chicken), and watching the bustling traffic is a “perfect” afternoon in the city.
“There are other options than pho, of course, but the clear broth and warm noodles are one of the world's great comfort foods”, it said. “Banh mi sandwiches are another Vietnamese street food exported successfully around the world”, it added. The baguette can be filled with a diverse selection of meats including pate, sausage and shredded pork skin, it said.
Pho, banh mi (bread served with condiments, chicken or pork) and com tam (broken rice) were introduced as typical street food in Ho Chi Minh City. CNN also suggested people visit Pham Ngu Lao Street – a place close to sites like Ben Thanh Market and Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts Museum. Thailand’s capital Bangkok was on the top of the list, followed by Japan’s Tokyo, the US’s Hawaii, and South Africa’s Durban.-VNA
