Hanoi (VNA)🍨 – Three hotlines for reporting issues related to food safety were launched in Hanoi on May 17.

Organisations or individuals can call 1900585826, 043 3800115 and 043 9985765 any time of the day or week.
According to Vice Director of the municipal Health Department Hoang Duc Hanh food safety is a complex issue in Hanoi as the city has 59,109 establishments operating in producing, processing and trading food, and a great number of slaughter houses, markets, super markets and commercial centres. In the first five months of this year, the city arranged 766 teams to inspect the trading and production of food, finding 7,872 out of the 48,899 inspected units to be violating food safety regulations.
The city’s management force also took 775 samples of food for testing and found 49 of them did not meet microbiological and chemical standards as regulated. The hotlines are expected to help detect food-safety violations, towards improving the efficiency of food safety management and ensuring hygiene.-VNA
