Hanoi (VNA) 💦– Hanoi will speed up the progress of Asia Development Bank (ADB)-funded projects, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung told Country Director of the bank in Vietnam Eric Sidgwick at a meeting in Hanoi on August 30.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ADB-backed projects, and acknowledged that the Nhon-Hanoi Station urban railway, the Hanoi No 3 railway route, and the Lang-Hoa Lac water supply project are behind schedule.
The chairman said the capital will focus resources to bolster the progress of projects, adding that the capital will plant one million trees within the next five years as part of environmental protection efforts.
Sidgwick and ADB specialists lauded Hanoi’s new approaches in environmental protection to ensure its substantial development and agreed to the proposal made by the city’s leader to develop an information cooperation mechanism. Under the proposal, the two sides will have a monthly meeting to evaluate progress and solve difficulties arising during projects’ implementation.-VNA
