Chairman of Hanoi city’s People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said on August 13 that 47 projects in the capital city will have their licences revoked due to delay and violations to the Land Law.
Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of Hanoi city’s People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said onAugust 13 that 47 projects in the capital city will have their licences revokeddue to delay and violations to the Land Law.
A list of the projects will be made public following the meeting held by themunicipal People’s Council on August 13, he said, stressing that the city willwork to complete software that can thoroughly and effectively manage projectsusing non-state budget.
The city ordered the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, theDepartment of Planning and Investment, and the Authority for Urban Planning andArchitecture to inspect existing projects and then organise dialogues withinvestors in order to remove bottlenecks and create favourable conditions for thosewho have the capacity to continue their projects, he said.
According to Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc,inspections carried out for eight departments and 30 districts and towns,showed that there are many projects which lag behind schedule and use land for wrongpurposes, thus impacting on local production and livelihoods.
During the 2012-2017 period, the city approved the implementation of 634non-state capital projects using land. However, 383 projects were also reportedto be delayed for an extended time and showed signs of violating the Land Law.Most of them were located in Hoai Duc district (51 projects), Me Linh district(50 projects), and Nam Tu Liem district (48 projects).
Regarding measures to settle long-delayed projects, Director of the municipalDepartment of Planning and Investment Nguyen Manh Quyen said that hisdepartment will continue to evaluate every project and join hands with relevantdepartments and agencies to support investors.
Any investor who is found to be violating the law in terms of idleness incarrying out their projects will find their investment licences reclaimed bythe city.–VNA
