Hanoi (VNA) – The first Vietnam Festival Media & Design will beheld in Hanoi on November 1-17 to honour Vietnam’s culture and creativeness.
The event will be organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’sVietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS) in collaborationwith RMIT Vietnam University, the United Nations Educational, Scientific andCultural Organisation (UNESCO), and partners.
The organising board said at a press conference on October 8 that more than 30events will be held during the festival, including fashion shows, an exhibitionshowcasing media and design students’ creative projects, an art tour, a startupand innovation workshop and a conference on future of Vietnam’s innovativeeducation.
Head of Office and UNESCO Representative to Vietnam Michael Croft described thefestival as an important event, especially after Hanoi decided to apply to jointhe UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
The festival will become a channel to connect partners and annual initiatives,while helping build development platform in the fields of media and design andintroduce applicable initiatives to other cities, he added.
Meanwhile, VICAS Director Bui Hoai Son believed that the festival will raisepublic awareness of the importance of creative activities and innovativeeducation in Vietnam.
Besides, he said the event is expected to make great contributions to realisingthe strategy on developing Vietnam’s cultural industries by 2020 with visionuntil 2030./.
