Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao gave orders to commence construction work on a 500-bed children’s hospital in Yen Nghia ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi on October 27. The six-storey facility, worth nearly 785 billion VND (nearly 35 million USD), is expected to be equipped with modern equipment and advanced technologies in a bid to serve healthcare needs of the people not just in the capital region but from surrounding areas as well.
The Chairman urged the municipal Department of Health to work with stakeholders to ensure efficient implementation of the project while focusing on training human resources for the operation of the facility.
He also called on other relevant bodies to provide support for the health sector in the project implementation as well as human resource training. The hospital, once completed, will contribute to ease overcrowding in the National Hospital of Paediatrics and health care facilities in the vicinity.-VNA
