Hanoi (VNA) – Secretary of Hanoi’s Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai has highlyvalued the important role of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in providinginformation for people in and outside the nation, including those in Hanoi.
VNAnews and publications have helped people grasp multi-dimensional informationabout political and socio-economic situation of the country in general andHanoi in particular, Hai said while visiting the agency on June 15 on theoccasion of the 92nd Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism Day (June21).
Heaffirmed that during the development process, Hanoi has always received thesupport and contribution from VNA staff as the agency’s information helps localsunderstand more about policies of the Party and State and the city’s policiesand missions, and transmit locals’ aspirations and difficulties to municipalauthorities.
TheSecretary expressed his belief that in the time to come, VNA will continuepromoting its tradition to contribute more to the nation building andsafeguarding process.
VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi thanked Hanoi authorities for their assistanceto VNA journalists.

TheState-owned VNA is a major news agency in Southeast Asia with more than 1,300reporters and editors, and a network of representative offices in all 63 citiesand provinces of Vietnam and 30 in foreign countries. Besides the five maineditorial departments, it runs a TV channel called the V-News, an onlinenewspaper VietnamPlus in five languages, and various publications.
Underthe cooperation agreement with Hanoi for 2012-2016, VNA published more than24,000 news stories about the capital city in various media forms and invarious languages, covering the latest developments across the fields in thecity.
