Hanoi (VNA) 🌌- The Hanoi Innovation Summit 2019 under the auspices of theHanoi People’s Committee and the Ministry of Planning and Investment opened on August29 at the National Convention Centre.

Attendees includedrepresentatives from ministries, embassies, municipal authoritiesand domestic and international enterprises. Speaking at the two-day summit,Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung called it animportant event for the capital city’s start-up community. Chung said the summitaims to help gradually answer the question of how to build acreative start-up ecosystem for Hanoi that is integrated into thenational, regional and international ecosystem. He also said the summit isan opportunity to connect Hanoi’s creative start-up communitywith entrepreneurs around the world. It will connect investors,experts, technological groups, domestic and international universities andinstitutes, and encourage the creative entrepreneurial spirit across Vietnam. Chung said he hopes the summit willnot only find solutions to urgent problems for the capital city, but alsoconnect the best pioneers and start-ups around the world with Vietnamesestart-ups, providing local firms multi-dimensional perspectives andexperiences. Municipal authorities will listento opinions from start-up businesses and create an attractive andsafe environment for investors, investment funds and start-ups all overthe world. The Hanoi leader said thatencouragement and support from the Government and ministries will allowcreative projects to flourish. Minister of Planning andInvestment Nguyen Chi Dung said the summit, along with other efforts fromthe Government, will help develop the nation's fledgling start-up community. The minister said experts,business leaders, researchers and talented young people participatingin the summit will be key factors to help Hanoi and Vietnam take advantage ofthe rapid changes of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Representatives at the summitsaid the event will promote awareness of start-ups among the community,especially for students, young people and academics. It will also serve topromote investment and trade in the technology sector. Sidelinesevents include an exhibition of products, services, technologies and solutionsoffered by innovative startups, business matching activities and a startup ideacontest.-VNA
