Hanoi, HCM City to host Information Security Day

Hanoi (VNA) - The annual"Vietnam Information Security Day" will take place in Hanoi and Ho ChiMinh City from November 15 – December 2.

The event, themed “Smart security inthe new connection world”, will focus on ensuring information securityamid the fourth industrial revolution and the introduction of smart productsand applications, and smart ecosystem, the Vietnam Information SecurityAssociation (VNISA) announced on November 7.

This year's event is organised by VNISA, theInformation Security Department and the Vietnam Computer Emergency ResponseTeam under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), and theInformation Technology Department under the Ministry of National Defence.

An international symposium, to be held in Hanoion December 1 as a main activity of the event, will focus on the role ofcentral-level coordination to mobilise cooperation of ministries, sectors,localities and communities for ensuring information security.

At the symposium, participants will hear reportson information security in Vietnam. VNISA will also announce the results of theVietnam Information Security Index in 2017.

MIC’s Information Security Department will announcenew State management policies and regulations on information security.

The department will also give comments onVietnam's and the world's information security situation and plans for thedevelopment of IT and information security in Vietnam.

Global IT companies and corporations, such as IBMGoogle, Amazon, Symantec, Jiran and Microfocus will share experiences,solutions and tools to ensure information security.

On the occasion, awards will be presented to topinformation security products and services, as well as innovative students inthe field.-VNA
