Hanoi FC defeated Becamex Binh Duong 1-0 in the second leg of the AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal final at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi on August 7 to enter the AFC Cup 2019 inter-zone semi-finals.

Hanoi (VNA) - Hanoi FC defeated Becamex Binh Duong 1-0 in the secondleg of the AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal final at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi on August 7to enter the AFC Cup 2019 inter-zone semi-finals.
Aftertaking the first leg last week by the same scoreline, Hanoi beat Binh Duong 2-0on aggregate.
Bothsides started the match aggressively and created a number of chances but failedto find the net.
Hanoi hadone of the first good chances, as Nguyen Van Dai headed a crossfrom midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai towards goal but couldn't beat BinhDuong goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong.
The hostscontinued to pile on pressure but could not find a way past Binh Duong'ssolid defence.
Despiteopportunities to take the lead, the first half ended goalless.
After thebreak the home side were on the front foot again and Pape Omar Faye brokethe deadlock on 61 minutes.
GoalkeeperTruong came out to claim a corner kick sent in by Nguyen Thanh Chung but theball slipped through his hands and Faye took full advantage, sending theball into the net with a first-time finish. This was his eighth goal of thecompetition.
Truongstruggled again several minutes later when he failed to hold on to a shot fromthe top of the box, but the ensuing chance slipped by the outside of the post.
BinhDuong seemed deflated following the goal and the hosts were able to calmlydefend their lead.
