Hanoi eyes ties with Budapest in environment, relic preservation
Hanoi wants to work with Hungary’s capital Budapest on environmental issues and in preserving cultural and historic relics and developing tourism, according to Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc.

Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi wants to workwith Hungary’s capital Budapest on environmental issues, relics preservation and tourism development, according to ViceChairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc.
Ngoc, accompanied by Vice Chairman of theHanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung, visited Budapest on August 1-2 whereshe met with the city’s Vice Mayor for City Development Szeneczey Balazs.
During the meeting, she asked Budapest to increasedelegation exchanges between the two cities and boost cooperation with Hanoi,particularly in environmental treatment and producing clean water from the RedRiver’s surface water.
Hanoi also hopes to learn from Budapest’sexperience in tourism development and relic preservation which will bebeneficial for its restoration, protection and management of cultural andhistorical relics.
Additionally, Hung discussed riverside urbanplanning, constructing overpasses and solving traffic jams with seniorofficials from Budapest. The two sides also talked about enhanced partnershipsin information technology, management of residential databases and buildingpublic spaces.
For his part, Balazs gave his guests anoverview of the city’s economic development, cultural relics, transportation,urban architecture and social welfare.
The vice mayor said he looks forward todeepening ties between the two cities and suggested the two sides to sign aframework agreement for cooperation.-VNA
