Nine out of 11 groups of commodities posted price increases with the biggest rise seen in transportation services, mainly due to the price hike in petrol and oil.
Petrol, diesel and kerosene prices rose by 680, 168 and 200 VND per litre, respectively.
The group of housing, electricity, water, fuel and building materials also posted a high growth due to higher demand in summer.
The group of restaurants and catering services showed a smaller increase compared to the previous month.
In June, gold price saw a rise of 0.69 percent and the VND/USD exchange rate was up 0.78 percent against last month.
