The northern mountainous province of Ha Giang is set for the seventh tourism programme Through Viet Bac Heritage Sites which is scheduled in the locality from October 7-10, said Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Van Kien.
The event, which draws the participation of six provinces in the Viet Bac region including Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang, will help enhance relations among localities as well as serve as a catalyst to attract tourists and investors in the region.
The highlight of the event is a raft racing on the Gam River in Bac Me district, which encourages traditional values and introduces lake tourism services to the travellers.
Tourism products, the Viet Bac cultural market, a photo exhibition displaying beautiful spots in the province and traditional sport activities will also be available to visitors.
A conference on tourism cooperation among the six provinces will be held to build specific strategies to and develop tourism, contributing to regional socio-economic development.-VNA
