GRET project gives helping hand to poor

GRET, a non-governmental organisation involving in rural development and nutrition, will implement a project to make use of bamboo by-products in central Thanh Hoa province, helping protect the environment and improve local people’s incomes.

GRET, a non-governmental organisation involving in rural development and nutrition, will implement a project to make use of bamboo by-products in central Thanh Hoa province, helping protect the environment and improve local people’s incomes.

Under the “Green Future” project, carried out in Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc districts between now and 2011, local people will be taught how to use bamboo by-products to make microorganism organic fertiliser, generate electricity and grow mushrooms.

Besides economic benefiℱts, the project will also focus on raising public awareness of energy saving and environmental protection, h🎃elping reduce the impacts of climate change./.
