Government issues resolution on socio-economic development in 2019
The Government issued Resolution 01/NQ-CP on January 1, outlining the main tasks and solutions for implementing the socio-economic development plan and the state budget estimates for 2019.
Hanoi (VNA) – The Government issued Resolution01/NQ-CP on January 1, outlining the main tasks and solutions for implementingthe socio-economic development plan and the state budget estimates for 2019.
The resolution said that the Government’smanagement work will focus on improving the economy’s capacity and resilience;building a disciplined, incorruptible and action-oriented apparatus, thus creatinga favourable investment and business climate for enterprises and people;comprehensively and harmoniously developing cultural and social aspects andbuilding Vietnamese people’s capacity to meet sustainable developmentrequirements; and actively preparing for all-level Party congresses in the run-upto the 13th National Party Congress.
The key tasks and solutions to realise the settargets include consolidating the macro-economic foundation, controllinginflation, and ensuring the major balances of the economy, the resolutionnoted, adding that the monetary policy must be active, flexible and prudentwhile working harmoniously with the fiscal and other macro-economic policies.
Additionally, the Government will take drasticactions to carry out strategic breakthroughs, restructure the economy, reformthe growth model, and improve growth quality.
In particular, ministries, sectors andlocalities will need to strongly attract non-State capital to infrastructuredevelopment, and further associate education-training with the development ofhuman resources, especially high-quality ones.
Some other tasks include enhancing people’smaterial and spiritual lives; perfecting the poverty reduction policy;prioritising resources for carrying out policies that target remote, disadvantagedand ethnic minority areas; and reforming social insurance and wage policies inline with relevant resolution of the Party Central Committee, according to theresolution.
Resolution 01/NQ-CP also required authorities topay due attention to preventing natural disasters and responding to climatechange; fighting the degradation of political ideology, morality and lifestyle;and building a lean, efficient and effective apparatus.-VNA
