Hanoi (VNA) – The Governmentgives top priority to ensuring macro-economic stability and sustainable growth,according to Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung.
While underlining ways that will be taken by the Cabinet in the coming time atthe Government’s regular press conference on April 3, Dung said theGovernment will focus on promoting rapid growth in mining industry andagriculture.
Drastic measures will also be implemented to deal with bad debts and inefficientbanks, while developing the private economic sector and mobilising resourcesfrom this sector for development investment, he stressed.
The Government will continue giving priority to making it easy for enterprises toexpand production and business, he said, adding that the disbursement ofinvestment sources will be accelerated for both State-owned and private economicsectors.
Ministries, sectors andlocalities were asked to implement the Government’s Resolution 19 and Resolution35, towards improving the business climate and competitiveness of the nation,and further supporting enterprises’ development.
Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dao Quang Thu attributed the firstquarter’s low GDP growth of 5.1 percent to a decline in the mining industry’sgrowth.
However, he said that in the first three months, macro balances on finance and budgetwas ensured, inflation was curbed and the numbers of new-established enterprisesand others resuming their operation increased, showing businesses’ increasing confidence in thebusiness climate.-VNA
