Of the figures, container goods reached 6.5 million TEUs, up 19 percent against the same period last year, making up 52 percent of this year’s target.
Vietnam has 44 sea ports and 250 wharfs with a total designed capacity of up to 500 million tonnes of goods a year.
To increase the country’s sea ports capacity, the Vietnam Maritime Administration will focus on completing projects on developing an Inland Container Depot system to 2020, with a vision 2030 and on maintaining Vietnamese maritime vessels in the Black-Grey-White list of the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control.-VNA
