Golfers to compete at Long Thanh course in late December

The national antagonistic and professional golf championship will take place from December 27-30 at Long Thanh golf course in the southern province of Dong Nai, according to the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA).

Hanoi (VNA) – The nationalantagonistic and professional golf championship will take place from December27-30 at Long Thanh golf course in the southern province of Dong Nai, accordingto the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA).

The association said at a press conference in Hanoi on December 24 that thetournament attracts the participation of more than 100 golfers from domesticand foreign golf clubs and associations.

VGA Deputy General Secretary Pham Thanh Tri, who is also head of the organisingboard, said many young Vietnamese golfers studying and working abroad such as TruongChi Quan, Hanako Kawasaki and Thao My are expected to show their talents in theannual tournament.

The championship features men’s amateur and professional categories, along withevents for mid-aged golfers, he said.

Tri added that the association will organise a year-end golf tournament insupport of the poor at Hanoi-based Long Bien golf course on December 31.

There will be 18 national golf tournaments in 2019, including 12 professionalones, with each prize worth hundreds of Vietnam dong, he said.-VNA
