Hanoi (VNA)𒊎 – All 10 winners of the Golden Globe Science and Technology Award 2023, announced by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, are young scientists who have made outstanding achievements in research.

Dr. Trinh Van Chien, is a lecturer at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He has published 40 articles in international scientific journals, one at an international conference, and 28 scientific reports published in conference proceedings. He is also the author of three books, and tutored two masters students. Chien, who graduated the Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2012, gained his master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, the Republic of Korea in 2014. He also has a doctorate degree in information systems from Linköping University, Sweden, in 2020. Before working at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, he spent nearly two years as a postdoctoral researcher at Luxembourg University, Luxembourg. His research focuses on optimization problems, theoretical analysis, and applications of machine learning to information systems and image and video signal processing. Chien was IEEE Communications Letters Exemplary Reviewer of the IEEE Communications Society in 2016, 2017 and 2021. He also received the award of scientific excellence in the first year of the 5Gwireless project funded by European Union Horizon's 2020. Chien has reviewed papers for many conferences and prestigious scientific magazines. Also an electromechanical scientist, Dr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, born in 1990, is a lecturer of University of Adelaide, South Australia. He has had 71 articles published in international scientific journals, five scientific reports at international conferences, 35 scientific reports published in full text in international conference proceedings, and owns an international patent. Meanwhile, another award winner, Dr. Ha Thi Thanh Huong, head of the Department of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at the School of Biomedical Engineering under the International University - Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, is the owner of eight national and international awards. She is the author of three monographs and book chapters, and three ministerial-level certificates of merit, along with a number of articles posted in international journals. Huong, born in 1989 and graduated with a doctorate in neuroscience from Stanford University in 2018, was the youngest scientist in Vietnam to win the Early Career Award in 2020. In 2022, she was honoured with the L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science International Award. Since 2003, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee has joined hands with the Ministry of Science and Technology to organize the Golden Globe award with a view to honouring young Vietnamese scientists who are under 35 years old and attain standout achievements in science and technology. The award also aims to encourage the study, research and application of science and technology, as well as develop talent in these fields to serve national development./.
