Global community interested in Digital Thailand Big Bang 2017

The global community has shown great interest in the Digital Thailand Big Bang 2017 exhibition recently held in Muangthong Thani, said Thai Digital Economy and Society Minister Pichet Durongkaveroj.

Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The global communityhas shown great interest in the Digital Thailand Big Bang 2017 exhibitionrecently held in Muangthong Thani, said Thai Digital Economy and SocietyMinister Pichet Durongkaveroj. 

Pichet said the success of the exhibition hasforged greater cooperation between relevant agencies to move the countrytowards the digital era. 

Such cooperation has expanded to the digital development ofhuman resources, banking, medicine, and artificial intelligence. 

The Thai Ministry of the Digital Economy and Society plans toorganise similar events in large cities such as Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Songkhlaand Chonburi in November to create awareness of the digital economy. 

The ministry is also moving ahead with its plan to build abig data platform collecting information related to each ministry and itspolicies. Pichet added both public and private sectors could benefit from theinformation available on such platform. -VNA

Thai Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Vuttikrai Leewiraphan Thailand's formal proposal will be substantial enough for the US to consider further detailed negotiations. He hoped for a tariff rate not exceeding 10% and suggested that the US might extend the negotiation period if an agreement is not reached by the July 8 deadline.
