Gifts presented to disadvantaged families, students

Inthe central city of Da Nang, 15 impoverished families in Hoa Vangdistrict were presented with houses and cows worth 300 million VND(13,950 USD), which was donated by organisations and individuals.

Five scholarships, each valued at 1 million VND (46.5 USD), were also awarded to disadvantaged students in the locality.

Overthe past two years, more than 2.5 billion VND (116,300 USD) has beenmobilised to help households in the district, contributing to the newstyle rural areas building programme in the locality.

On the sameday, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Joint StockCommercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) gifted 500schoolbags that can also function as life jackets to students inlow-lying areas in Duc Trong and Da Teh in the Central Highlandsprovince of Lam Dong.

On this occasion, 40 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND (23.26 USD), were presented to disadvantaged children in Duc Trong district.-VNA
