German company invests in two solar power projects in Hau Giang

BS Heidelberg Solar GmbH of Germany said it plans to invest in two solar power projects in Vietnam’s southern province of Hau Giang, namely Hau Giang I and Hau Giang II.

HauGiang (VNA) – BS Heidelberg Solar GmbH of Germany said it plans toinvest in two solar power projects in Vietnam’s southern province of Hau Giang,namely Hau Giang I and Hau Giang II.

Amemorandum of understanding on the investment was signed by the company and theHau Giang People’s Committee on April 2.

Covering50ha in Hoa An commune, Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang I will have a capacityof over 40MWP and cost 50 million USD.

Meanwhile,Hau Giang II is expected to be based at the Nhon Nghia A Industrial Cluster inChau Thanh A district. The 200-ha plant has a designed capacity of more than170 MWp, with a total investment of 200 million USD.

Constructionof the two plants is scheduled to begin in December 2018 and end in June 2019.

RodnyScherzer, a member of the Board of Directors of BS Heidelberg Solar GmbH, saidHau Giang has favourable natural conditions for solar power projects.

Theprojects are important during this period, he said, pledging that the companywill try to push the implementation of the projects.

Atthe working session, Nguyen Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Hau Giang People’sCommittee, applauded the company’s investment, saying the projects match thelocality’s policies and solar power planning scheme.

HauGiang will create the best possible conditions for the company to deal withdifficulties hindering the process.-VNA
