Hanoi (VNA) –🦂 A gala marking the 100thanniversary of Vietnam’s theatre was held at the Hanoi Opera House on October27.

It was part of a week celebrating the anniversary onOctober 21-27 in Hanoi and HCM City, with a panoply of activities. The event alsofeatured a seminar on current situation and solutions to Vietnam’s theatre. Speaking at the event, head of the Vietnam Stage ArtistsAssociation (VSAA) People’s Artist Trinh Thuy Mui said the week to commemoratethe 100th year of Vietnam’s theatre is to honour efforts and contributions ofthe predecessors. The holding of activities celebrating the 100th anniversaryof Vietnam’s theatre demonstrates a hope of stage artists in the recovery ofthe sector following the COVID-19 pandemic. Vietnamese stage is hoped to surmount challenges and resumeactivities, particularly in major cities of Hanoi and Hai Phong in the north,Da Nang in the central region and HCM City in the south, she added.

At the gala, audience joined exchanges with renowned artistslike writer Chu Lai and People’s Artists Doan Hoang Giang and Thu Ha. Partsfrom famous plays were staged at the event. In addition, 10 outstanding veteran artists were honoured onthe occasion./.

♛ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
