- Presidentof the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Cen🐈tral Committe♐e Tran Thanh Man paid a pre-Christmas visit to the Vinh Diocese in the central province of Nghe An onDecember 13.

Speaking at the meeting with local Catholic dignitaries and followers, Manattributed the country’s socio-economic achievements to efforts of theVietnamese Catholic community and Catholic followers of the Vinh Diocese in particular. Hehailed them for actively joining national patriotic emulation movements,especially towards fulfilling the dual goal of fighting COVID-19 and developingthe economy. The front leader wished that the Catholics ofthe Vinh Diocese would continue working closely with religions to protect theenvironment and respond to climate change, and carry out practical activities to contribute to the success of the upcoming 13th National Party Congress. They were asked to continueresponding to campaigns launched by the VFF Central Committee, further upholdthe tradition of patriotism and solidarity, and build the great national unity bloc. Bishop Alphonse NguyenHuu Long of the Vinh Diocese vowed to continue urging Catholics to joincampaigns launched by the VFF Central Committee. Man also visited and congratulated the provincial Committee for Solidarityof Vietnamese Catholics on the occasion. A day earlier, the front leader visited the An Lac Parish, the Diocese of Thai Binh,in the northern province of Thai Binh. He expressed his belief that Bishop Nguyen Van De will continue callingon local Catholics to follow the Party's policies and the State's laws. At the event, Man also presented gifts to disabled children who arebeing raised at the An Lac Parish./.
