Hanoi (VNA) – Secretary of theCommunist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of the VietnamFatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man has sent Chol Chnam Thmayfestival greetings to Cambodia.
His message of best wishes was addressed toSamdech Heng Samrin, Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party,President of the Cambodian National Assembly, and President of the SolidarityFront for Development of the Cambodian Motherland.
The New Year festival, called Chol ChnamThmay in Cambodia, Songkran in Thailand, Bunpimay in Laos and Thingyan inMyanmar, takes place in April every year, attracting tourists with traditionalculture, a festive atmosphere and water splashing traditions to wash away badluck and pray for a good new year.
Chol Chnam Thmay is one of the mostimportant festivals for Khmer people in Cambodia. It usually lasts three daysand is celebrated mostly in pagodas. -VNA

The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
