Free wifi to be available at Hue festival’s main venues
Free public wifi will be provided in a number of locations during the 2016 Hue Festival, which will take place from April 29- May 4 in the central province of Thua Thien – Hue.

According to the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT)’s branch in Thua Thien-Hue – the main sponsor of the event, free wifi will available in Ngo Mon square, Duyet Thi Duong theatre and around Thai Hoa, Kien Trung and Can Chanh Palaces where stages will be installed for major performances.
Free wife will be also provided in Nguyen Dinh Chieu pedestrian street, and at An Dinh palace.
The wireless internet service aims to facilitate internet access for visitors and support the press in informing the public of the events and activities during the festival. VNPT in Hue has cooperated with the provincial IT centre, the Hue Industrial College, the Gosu Company and a local IT group, to launch a smart phone application for iOS, Android and Windows phones, which will help phone users search for information, in Vietnamese and English, related to the Hue Festival 2016.
With the theme “Cultural heritage with integration and development,” the festival aims to honour the 710th anniversary 🔴of the region, Thua Thien-Hue (formerly known as Thuan Hoa, and then Phu Xuan).
It is expected to bring to the audience a feast of diverse, cultural events, ranging from the Buddhist celebration of Universal Illumination, a concert of Trinh Cong Son’s music, the Nam Giao offering ritual and an Ao Dai grand show, to street performances, exhibitions, trade fairs, Hue kite flying, calligraphy and food demos.
The highlight of the festival is the “Imperial Night Spect📖acles,” which reveals the beauty of the Imperial City at night. It will feature various court music and dance, royal and folk games, together with exceptional sound, light and video effects in the mysterious settings of the Citadel. The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT) spend a billion VND (45,000 USD) on the 2016 Hue Festival under an agreement signed in the central city on March 11.
Some 20 art troupes from 15 countries worldwide will attend the 9 th Hue Festival which takes place in central Thua Thien-Hue province from April 29 to May 4.
