Foreign students in Vietnam welcome Tet

Over a hundred of foreign students enrolling in universities, colleges in Hanoi are celebrating the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) festival in Vietnam.
Over a hundred of foreign students enrolling in universities,colleges in Hanoi are celebrating the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet)festival in Vietnam.

Lou Varvas from France, a student from HanoiUniversity, shared that this is the first time he joined in celebrationof a Vietnamese Tet. He said he has learned numerous special culturalfeatures of Tet, and is looking forward to trying Tet foods during thefestival.

Riccaroi Bessard (Canada) has celebrated Tet for threetimes. He said the festival is a special time where family members gettogether and share good foods and beautiful wishes, hoping for a moreprosperous new year with joy, good health and happiness.

Among Hanoi-based schools, the Hanoi University has the largest numberof international students with over 700 students who come from 26different countries worldwide.

It has become a tradition forthe university to hold a year-end meeting for its foreign students tohelp them understand more about the Vietnamese traditional New Yearfestival.-VNA
