Five imported COVID-19 cases reported on December 14

Five new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the past 24 hours, all of them Vietnamese returning from abroad, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced on December 14 evening.

Hanoi (VNA) –
Fivenew cases of COVID-19 were detected in the past 24 hours, all of them Vietnamesereturning from abroad, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Preventionand Control announced on December 14 evening.

The new patients, comprising twofrom Angola, two from Indonesia and one from Saudi Arabia, were quarantinedright upon their arrival in northern Thai Binh and Ninh Binh provinces, and theMekong Delta province of Dong Thap.

With the new cases, the national tallynow stands at 1,402, of which 693 are locally transmitted.

Among the COVID-19 cases inVietnam, 1,246 have recovered while the fatalities remain at 35.

As for those still undertreatment, four have tested negative once for SARS-CoV-2, five twice and 11thrice.

A total of 19,992  peoplewho had close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic-hit areasare being quarantined nationwide, with 209 at hospitals, 15,593 at concentratedfacilities, and 4,190 either at home or accommodations./.
