First Vietnamese businesswoman to be granted France’s Legion of Honour

Chairwoman of the Sovico Group and CEO of Vietjet Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao has been granted the Legion of Honour by the French Government for her special contributions to Vietnam’s relations with France and Europe.

Hanoi (VNA) – Chairwoman of the SovicoGroup and CEO of Vietjet Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao has been granted theLegion of Honour by the French Government for her special contributions toVietnam’s relations with France and Europe.

On behalf of the French Government, Ambassadorof France to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery presented the noble order to Thao, thefirst Vietnamese businesswoman to be honoured with this decoration.

He noted that as Sovico Chairwoman and VietjetCEO, Thao has made special contributions to the enhancement of economic andcultural ties and development cooperation between Vietnam and Europe, includingFrance.

The diplomat highly valued the entrepreneur’svision, wisdom, humanity and business philosophy for the sake of communitydevelopment and future generations.

Warnery also appreciated the firms led by Thaolike Sovico, Vietjet, and HDBank continually standing side by side with Frenchbusinesses and people, especially during the time his country was affected bythe COVID-19 pandemic.

Congratulating Thao, Deputy Minister of ForeignAffairs To Anh Dung described the order presentation as a milestone in the twocountries’ diplomatic, cultural, and economic links.

For her part, Thao thanked the French State andpeople for their cooperation with herself as well as the Sovico Group./.
