First film project market opens in Hanoi

Vietnam’s first ever film project market is taking place in Hanoi on November 24 and 25 as part of activities of the third Hanoi International Film Festival 2014.
Vietnam’s first ever film project market is taking place in Hanoi onNovember 24 and 25 as part of activities of the third HanoiInternational Film Festival 2014.

Coorganized by BHD-VietnamMedia Corp and the Cinema Department, the market aims to provide achance for filmmakers from Vietnam and other countries to introduce andpromote their ideas to producers, distributors and potential investors.

Ngo Phuong Lan, Director of Cinema Department said the eventalso hopes to attract international distributors and film festivals.

The event has attracted nearly 100 film projects. Theorganizing board has selected the best five projects, which are “30 daysof ginger”, “A share of paradise”, “Honeygiver among the dogs”, “ Awong season” and “ We ain’t nice always”.

The 3rdHanoi International Film Festival was kicked off in Hanoi on November 23with the theme “Cinema – Integration and Sustainable Development”.

Out of 411 movies sent from all over the world,130 from 32 countries and territories were selected to attend thefestival.

They will compete indifferent categories including Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, BestFeature Film Director, Best Short Film Director, Best Actor and Actressin Leading Roles.

Vietnam sends two feature films and 12 short films to the festival.-VNA
