Hanoi (VNA) -  The Koyu &Unitek Co. Ltd. expects to export the first batch of 40 tonnes of Vietnamese poultryproducts to Japan late this year.

According to head of the company’s exportproject board Nguyen Van Quyen, the group is waiting for the Japaneseveterinary agencies to grant the export license.

It took two years for the firm to complete allnecessary procedures to export its poultry products to Japan, he said.

The biggest problem is the building of its ownmonitoring management programme in line with standards of the WorldOrganisation for Animal Health and the Japanese veterinary organisations.

Japan is particularly interested in productsoriginating from poultry without avian flu diseases and antibiotics, Quyennoted.

The building of a safe buffer zone is difficultbut the company has received support from the Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment in the field.

The company has invested in building a chain ofproduction with bio-safety processes and the application of advanced technology.

It counts two seed farms and three commercialones to serve exports in addition to 6-7 manufacturing farms to meet thedomestic demand.

Apart from Japan, the company has studied othermarkets such as Europe, Australia, and Canada, Quyen said.-VNA
