Binh Duong (VNA) – Finl𝔍and is willing to share experience and environmentally-friendly technologies t🦩o help the southern province of Binh Duong continue developing its waste treatment programmes and projects to protect the environment.

The statement was made by Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Lenita Toivakka at her working session with local leaders on March 10.
After visiting the South Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex – Vietnam’s most modern plant - in Ben Cat town, Finland pledges to maintain its official development assistance (ODA) provision to expand the model at the national scale and to other countries in the region, she added. The European nation will assist with an additional 6.15 million EUR out of the 6.5 million EUR investment required for the second phase of the complex.
The total investment for the first phase of the project was valued at over 16 million EUR, 42.76 percent of which came from Finland’s ODA. The complex has two main areas: a domestic waste treatment area where solid waste is treated and recycled into compost, with a daily capacity of 420 tonnes; and an industrial leaching treatment plant with a capacity of 480 cubic metres per hour. A hazardous industrial treatment area in the complex is designed to incinerate 500 tonnes of solid industrial waste per day.-VNA

Vietnam ramps up plastic waste recycling, reuse, treatme𒅌nt efforts

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.
